Frequently Asked Questions:

1. Where are the operators manufactured?

The SW16 arm and control board are made for us in China. The balance of the parts are from various

Nations and assembled in the US.

The SL24 uses some mechanical components from China and some from the US. The control circuit is

made in the US and the operator is assembled in the US.

2. How are they shipped to you?

We purchase the SW16 swing gate operator arm and control board as a completely assembled product. The

speed reduction is a 'gear motor' - an assembled, sealed, permanently lubricated unit that has no exposed

plastic or metal parts that can break under pressure.

The SL24 is an engineered component operator that is built in the US then shipped to our customer.

3. How can you offer a 3 year warranty?

Quality of engineering and components. We will, at random, tear down a SW16 arm to check the specs as

part of our quality control policies.  We also do a 24 hr bench test on every operator prior to shipping.

4. Why do you offer the 335 Option?

Why not? We are in this business for the long haul and want to have you as a satisfied customer for life.

So, we are doing what we feel is best for you and for us. What do you think?

5. How long does it take for the operator to open the gate?

Good question as we know how frustrating it is to sit and wait! The SW16 swing gate operator will open

your gate in about 15 seconds. The SL24 slide gate operator moves the gate at 12" per second which is fast

by residential standards, but we can do that so why not? Try standing by your gate and time 15 seconds -

it's a long time! By using our remotes you can get the gate going while you are still 50 feet from the gate. If

you approach the gate while traveling 10 mph your wait isn't that bad especially with our slider - once we

    release it anyway.

6. How do I maintain the SW16 operator?

Clean the arm as needed, lubricate with silicone. Also keep a casual eye on the volt meter. If you see it drop

below 24v it is probably time for a new battery.

7. Why can't I purchase directly off your site?

Experience. We want to be sure, as best as humanly possible, that the operator will be used on a

correctly installed gate, that we have discussed available options,  and that you will be happy with the

end result - even if it means you do not make the purchase from us - really.

8. You seem to be the only company to use a lithium battery. Why is that?

Cost, availability, reliability, and longevity. We did the engineering, had our vendors do their engineering,      we then did lots of research and testing. Based on all the input, we decided that the lithium battery is the

best long term way to go for our customers and for us.

Our non-proprietary Lithium battery will cost about the same as a pair of AGMs but the Lithium will last

longer, about 5 years; can be discharged to 20%, AGMs should only go to 50%; are about 4 times smaller so

they easily fit in our control box, and are lighter. Since you are paying for the shipping, that saves  you

money. Since we warranty the battery for 3 years, it's a win for all of us!
